León, Gto., May 24, 2016.- To promote self-care and attention to health between teenagers, students from the educative program of Nursing and Midwifery, venue Guanajuato, from Campus León won the first place in the poster category, in the III International Iberoamerican Congress of Nursing and Midwifery from the "Fundación para la Cooperación, Investigación y Desarrollo de la Enfermería (FUNCIDEN)", in Santa María, Colombia, und er the title of "Detection and Prevention of addiction in teenagers in a middle school in Guanajuato, Mexico."

M. Karla Ivonne Mijangos Fuentes was the advisor of the community project which developed for six months in the Technical Middle School #32, through various kiosks of health where they provided information and interacted with teenagers about addictions, suicide, sexuality, nutrition and unwanted pregnancies as part of the subject of Community Nursing.

The winning students are: Flor Valeria Vega Hurtado, José Adolfo Ramos Rivera, Jocelyn Hernández Ramírez and Cristian Jonathan Trujillo Camargo.

The students received support from the Division of Health Sciences to make their movement to Colombia and a recognition from the Director of the Division; Dr. Tonatiuh García Campos, who in company of M. Cipriana Caudillo Cisneros; Academic Secretary of the Division and M. Teresa Hernández; Director of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, venue Guanajuato, valued the effort and commitment of the participant youth.

Among the obtained results during the stay in the middle school, stands out that at the age of seven they being to consume drugs, have bad eating habits, unawareness of the healthy plate and the correct use of preservatives.

Cristian Jonathan Trujillo Camargo, one of the participant students commented in an interview "Coming to this congress gave a cultural and personal growth, I was able to express and share ideas of how the degrees in Nursing are in other places in the world such as Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Brazil". Likewise, he informed that the IV International Iberoamerican Congress of Nursing and Midwifery will occur in our country on mid-2017.
