
Guanajuato, Gto., May 30, 2016.- With the purpose to recognize women in Guanajuato and promote the development of the state, there was the first edition of the Award University Woman –Region Irapuato 2016—where two students from the University of Guanajuato (UG) obtained this recognition.
In the category "Artistic expressions" the award went for Stephanie Constantino Vega, student of the degree in Plastic Arts of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design from Campus Guanajuato.
On her part, Maria Fernanda Tornero Villagómez, student from the degree in Agribusiness from the Division of Life Sciences of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, was recognized in the category "Social Commitment and Human Rights."
The Award University Woman seeks to consolidate as one of the most important recognitions towards work and actions of young women in the state. It is organized and created by the Commission of Gender Equity of the University Council – Region Irapuato, in coordination with the Instituto de la Juventud Guanajuatense (INJUG) and the Instituto para las Mujeres Guanajuatenses (IMUG).
This award is a visible manifestation of the effort and dedication of the students from the University of Guanajuato, who participate continuously in extracurricular and cultural and social impact activities.
The award ceremony took place on May 27th in the Forum Sol of the Universidad Tecnológica del Suroeste del Estado de Guanajuato (UTSOE), located in the city of Valle de Santiago.
