Guanajuato, Gto., May 30, 2016.- With the objective to share experiences, knowledge, academic research products, projects and good practice related with Higher Education, began the First Journey of the State's Commission for the planning of Higher Education in the State of Guanajuato (COEPES) and the Second Environmental Symposium.

This journey will last four days, and will have activities in three venues: The University of Guanajuato, the "Universidad de la Salle Bajío" and the "Universidad Iberoamericana."

The latter, with the participation of 250 academics from schools, institutes, faculties, educative and research centers, as well as authorities and actors from diverse instances from public administration and government.

Within the activities to develop, the University of Guanajuato will host a panel with the name "Political Agenda of the Higher Education Institutions in the Social Media communication", which will occur next Wednesday June 1st in the Hall of Acts at the Central Building.

Such panel will have the participation of experts in the topic as the Lic. Mitzi Robles, Head of Social Communication at UG, M. José de Jesús Jaime Galván, advisor of UG's general rectory, Lic. Héctor González Aguirre, director of Social Communication of the State Congress and M. Christian Federico Rábago Ramírez, coordinator of communication at UNIVA.

The panel will have free access for all the interests and will be done from 10:00 to 12:00 hrs.

Regarding the Second Environmental Symposium, Dr. Arturo Lara, Secretary of Innovation, Science and Higher Education, highlighted the importance of the environmental care so the universities expand an awareness and a commitment with the environment's protection.

It is precise to mention that at early 80s was born the State's Commission for the Planning of Higher Education in the State of Guanajuato (COEPES), being founders the University of Guanajuato, the "Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya", the "Instituto Tecnológico de León", the "Colegio del Bajío", the "Universidad del Bajío A.C." (UBAC) today "Universidad La Salle Bajío", "Universidad la Salle Celaya" and the "Universidad Iberoamericana León."

COEPES' fundamental mission is to contribute the continuous improvement, the equilibrated growth and belonging to the higher education of the state of Guanajuato, establishing mechanisms of planning and regulation tightly linked and coordinated with the social and economic sectors of the environment.
