Irapuato, Gto., June 1, 2016.- The student of the University of Guanajuato, Emmanuel Duarte Mata, won the third place in the Mexican Circuit of Open Waters organized by the Mexican Federation of Swimming (FMN) in Mérida, Yucatán.

Around 150 swimmers participated in such competence, where the representative from the University of Guanajuato stood out in the 10k trial, in an 8-lap circuit of 1,250m each.

Emmanuel Duarte courses the second semester of Agronomy Engineering in the Division of Life Sciences from Campus Irapuato-Salamanca. He lives in the city of Salvatierra, where he started practicing swimming at a very early age.

He participated in the male category of 18-24 years old, which implies to compete with more experiences people, because in this discipline, the greatest performance is reached at the age of 25.

"I'm satisfied with the results, but very committed" commented the outstanding sportsman, referring that the study rhythm has not let him train intense, which compromises him to equilibrate better his time between both activities.

It is important to mention that in the Universidad 2015, Emmanuel obtained 4 gold medals and 2 bronze and the year before the last, in the National Olympics, he classified for the cup Challenge Texas 2014.

With this result, the swimmer from Salamanca is motivated to share and transmit the taste for the sports culture among other youth.
