Guanajuato, Gto., June 6, 2016. Starting the next semester, the University of Guanajuato (UG) will offer a program of formation in the subject of communication. The latter was revealed by the General Rector of UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino within activities of the celebration of the Day of the Freedom of Expression in México.

Such program will be composed by workshops, conferences and expos, among other activities, and will be configured with all the academic rigor the subject requires, held Dr. Guerrero Agripino, in a breakfast with representatives from the communication media.

In addition, as part of the activities to celebrate the newspaper guild, in the House of Studies was inaugurated the expo "Truth & Freedom", which gathers the work of 15 photojournalists in the state.

Previous to the inauguration of the photo show, UG's General Rector said that the Freedom of Expression represents a fundamental human right, key for the development of the civilization, so he thanked the communicators for their work done.

In her intervention, the Director of Communication and Liaison from UG, M. Margarita Arenas Guzmán, highlighted the importance of having leaders in the subject of communication to flag the defense of the freedom of expression with fundament in a sound formation; work where UG will join with the program that will begin in the following months.

The University of Guanajuato –said—is by excellence, a space for the manifest of ideas, hence, a space of freedom where debates and critiques are generated. Represents a bastion of the freedom of expression "fundamental pillar in the construction of a democratic State."

The journalist Roberto Tamayo Cisneros thanked the recognition to the work of the journalists, and expressed his gratitude to UG, institution where he graduated as a recorder and then contributed to his formation as communicator.

In the event hosted in the patio of the Ancient Jesuit Hospice were present representatives of the diverse communication media in the state, and directors of the House of Studies, among them, the Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa; the Academic Secretary, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez; the secretary of Management and Development, M. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo and the General Coordinator of the System of Radio, Television and Hypermedia (SIRTH), M. Ricardo García Muñoz.
