Guanajuato, Gto. June 8, 2016.- During the award ceremony for excellence and academic merit June 2016 of the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG) from Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo, Secretary of Management and Development of the University of Guanajuato, extended a warm congratulation to the young students who received the "Prize for the master Antonio Torres Gómez" and the "Prize for the master Cuauhtémoc Ojeda Rodríguez."

Dr. Romero Hidalgo attended the ceremony representing Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, General Rector of UG, from whom he took salutations to the students in the Division and to whom he transmitted a congratulation for this important achievement, product of their effort, responsibility and commitment with the professional formation.

This ceremony, he said, has a special meaning, since it recognizes our best students in the Division of Law, Politics and Government, evoking the memory and example of two outstanding college men that have honor and glory to this house of studies: M. Cuauhtémoc Ojeda and M. Antonio Torres Gómez.

Representing the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández; Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez Padilla also congratulated the students in name of everyone who is part of this outstanding academic community: "I ratify that our daily motor are you and we'll continue looking on all improvement opportunities", she said, at the same time of accepting that the accomplishment of the youth back up the institutional work and speaks well of the development possibilities this Campus provides, the work from their directors, professors, advisors and, of course, their families.

Finally, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, Director of DDPG, gave an emotive and sincere recognition to all and each one of the students and groups who received the medals. It is an emblematic ceremony, she said, being the first in recognizing the students of excellence and why they're proud in particular of the names of the prizes refer to two graduate celebrities from the Division, outstanding jurists and unforgettable Rectors of this house of studies.

It is worth mentioning that the ceremony of academic excellence is the celebration where they recognize the effort for the academic performance. It is done semiannually to reward the best GPAs of each one of the semesters from the three degrees taught in this Division, obtained in the immediate prior semester.

To the students from the degree in Law with the best individual GPAs in the semester (first and second place), are awarded with the prize "M. Antonio Torres Gómez" and the best generation GPA, is granted the prize "M. Cuauhtémoc Ojeda Rodríguez."

To the students of the degrees in Public Management and Political Science, are awarded with the prize to Academic Excellence for best individual GPA in the semester (first and second place), and the prize for the Academic trajectory to the best individual generation GPA. This is the second time the postgraduate educative programs are included in this ceremony.

Likewise, this is the first edition in which they include the Academic merit, which is the recognition granted to the students who have performed an important role in activities such as contests, workshops, obtaining a special mention, and this time, was handed to the team of Oral Litigation and the Debate team.

Roque Federico Trueba Guzmán thanked the distinction for the students, representing the awarded students from the degree in Law; Yolanda Corral González, representing the awarded students from the degree in Public Management and Manuel Alejandro Ramírez García, representing the awarded students from the degree of Political Science.

At the ceremony were also present Dr. Eduardo Pérez Alonso, Director of the Department of Law; Dr. Fernando Díaz Pérez, Director of the Department of Public Management and Dr. Carlos Román Cordourier Real, Director of the Department of Political Studies and Government.
