Guanajuato, Gto., June 8, 2016. With the University of Guanajuato (UG) as a host, it was inaugurated the German Agenda in Guanajuato and the Congress Sustainable Business Action, events that will be done in the framework of the Dual year Germany-Mexico 2016-2017.

In the opening message, the state governor, Lic. Miguel Márquez Márquez, said that as a consequence of the excellent relationship there is between both countries, since 2015 Mexico became in the main commercial partner of Germany in Latin America.

Explaining the effects of industrialization in Guanajuato, he confirmed that there is not only a transformation in the economic and tourist sectors, but also in education, as proven by the changes in the University of Guanajuato. "In this emblematic university, they would always talk about lawyership, public accounting, etc. Today we step forward, specially, to the education with scientific, technical profiles, now open to mechatronics, nanotechnology, and pharmaceutic" he expressed.

The Ambassador of Germany in Mexico, Viktor Elbling, emphasized in the Mexican model of dual formation, which began its pilot stage in 2013 and currently has thirteen technical degrees and it's present in eleven states. This projects combines the theory with practice and integrates students to companies.

Regarding the forum done at UG, he pointed out that the Congress Sustainable Business Action will be very useful for the development of the relationship Mexico-Germany.

Likewise, invited to participate in all the activities in the Dual year, that throughout twelve months considers expos, concerts, symposiums and workshops, among other events, which will cover six themed fields: science, culture, education, innovation, mobility and sustainability.

This initiative of the German government is based on common objectives and values in both countries, such as creativity, innovation, productivity, sustainable development, encouragement of democracy and human rights. The intention is to forge an "alliance for the future" together.

In the opening ceremony of the German Agenda in Guanajuato, was also present the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino; Municipal President of Guanajuato, Lic. Édgar Castro Cerrillo; functionaries of the Mexican and German governments, legislators, representatives of the business and academic sectors.
