Guanajuato, Gto. June 9, 2016.- Students' safety is a priority, held Dr. Javier Corona Fernández, Rector of Campus Guanajuato from the University of Guanajuato (UG) during a meeting with the General Director of Citizen Safety of this city, M. Christian Ortíz Muñiz, in which they took previous agreements for the signing of the agreement extension with such municipal instance.

Among the preventive actions that were analyzed, are the topic of safe housing, police round in the diverse venues of Campus Guanajuato to inhibit felonies; a better road program; panic buttons; surveillance cameras; and phone messaging groups.

Dr. Corona Fernández thanked the presence of M. Ortiz Muñiz, as well as the heads of Road Police, Preventive Police and Civil Protection, who in diverse moments have offered advice and accompaniment in the matter of protection and training not only to students but to personnel from diverse venues, program that seeks to extend and maintain the liaison with the city.

The Rector of Campus Guanajuato from UG, exposed that they pretend to retake the project of Safe Housing, now that the Committee of Safety has been structured and in each one of the venues there is a corresponding committee, for which it requires the coordination with the city corporations.

Before it, M. Ortiz Muñiz committed to back the proposal of the Rectory of Campus Guanajuato and revealed that within the weekly analysis that it has with the personnel, pays a lot of attention to the students for the great student population in the city, and there is even a coordination with restaurants and bars, they make displays in the alleys according to detected incidences.

Another commitment was to continue with the processes of accreditation of safe school, not for the certificate of the Secretary of Work and Prevision itself, but for the coverage in the matter of prevention.

On his part, Dr. Javier Corona offered the collaboration and spaces of Campus Guanajuato for training in courses and workshops for the elements of the diverse corporations of safety and was manifested that the commitment of the new meetings to concrete projects and sign the agreement extension.

In the meeting were present, among others, the General Director of Citizen Safety, M. Christian Ortiz Muñiz; Director of City's Civil Protection, William Emmanuel Hernández Morales; the Operative Sub-Director of Road Police, Commander Armando Navia Ramírez; Preventive Police Commissioner, Héctor Zepeda Elizarraráz.

From Campus Guanajuato, was the General Coordinator of Administrative Support, Lic. Renata Alarcón Bárcenas; Coordinator of the Safety Unit, M. Raúl Morales Aguilar, and the Coordinator of Material Resources, Eng. Juan Luis Martínez.
