
León, Gto., June 13, 2016.- With the purpose to point the importance of research projects, divulgation and teaching of pre and post grades in Social Sciences and Politics in regions on high rhythms and levels of development like the ones that characterize Guanajuato, the presented the book: "Democracia en Latinoamerica: entre el ideal utópico y las realidades políticas." (Democracy in Latin America: between the utopic ideal and the political realities).
This is coordinated by the scholars Alex Ricardo Caldera Ortega and Armando Chaguaceda Noriega, professors-researchers of the Division of Social Sciences of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Campus León.
The presentation of the book was within activities of the Fourth Latin American Congress of Social Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas. The book was edited with the label of Fontamara and the University of Guanajuato.
Dr. Alex Ricardo Caldera, coordinator of the book, described the work as a scientific result of the project Seminar Change and Emerging Social Dynamics in Latin America in its 2015 edition, in whose framework publish this and other four volumes, focused in diverse economic, cultural problems and local, regional, national and Latin American socio-politics.
The Seminar Change and Emerging Social Dynamics in Latin America is a platform of the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies of Campus León, sponsored by the Program of Academic Excellence of the University of Guanajuato since 2014 and until this year, from which they organize journeys, workshops and discussion spaces related to the research lines of this academic community.
This year, the focus is the project "León Metropolitano" and the third edition of the Biennial Congress of Territories in Movement is organized, to be celebrated this year in August and the Summer School in the month of July.
On his part, Dr. Armando Chaguaceda, also in charge of the coordination of the text, emphasized the importance of having results that display the local reality from the global point of view and with a multidisciplinary perspective.
He insisted that the universities of the Mexican province can and must prove their quality and good use of public funds dedicated to research with works like these one, where the texts are selected based on their quality and contribution and not to criteria of groups or political loyalty.
