Guanajuato, Gto., June 14, 2016.- Next Friday June 17th, the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato (OSUG), will give a concert in which will interpret premiere plays in Mexico and Guanajuato.
This time, they'll have the presence of the guest director Armando Pesqueira, the first work that OSUG will play is "Overture Gwendoline" of the composer Emmanuel Chabrier, which will be interpreted for the first time in Guanajuato.
The audience will be able to hear a play written in one movement, constituted around two topics, the first taken from the choir of Danish pirates, thoroughly exposed by the violoncellos from the fifth compass, and the theme of Gwendoline, essentially melodic, very developed at start by the clarinet before appearing again, cut, after Harald's triumph.
Afterwards, there will be the premiere in Mexico with the interpretation of "The four elements" of Frank Martin. The music of the Swiss composer Frank martin reflected, until the 50 years, a conflict between influence of German culture impregnated where he grew and the taste that developed early for the French music.
"The four elements" is articulated in four movements, the music sheet displays an unusual freedom in the composer, since generally he preferred to adapt to classical forms.
The concert will end after the interim with the Symphony No.5 in D major, Op. 107 "Reform" of Felix Mendelssohn. Structured in four movements, the fifth symphony expresses, according to René Jacobs in his book about the German composer, "the intimate conflict that he opposed for all his life to both creating trends of the musician: the impossible reunion of the musical tradition of Germany who had drank the Lutheran coral and a more decided modern language."
It is important to mention that for his prizes and awards, Armando Pesqueira has earned the prestige as Orchestra director, composer, pianist and arranger. From Tijuana, B.C., he obtained masters in composition in the State University of California in San Diego, and his teacher was Dr. David Ward-Steinman, and in orchestral direction in the Conservatory of Music of San Francisco with Dr. David Milnes, Jung-Ho Pak and Alisdair Neale. The prestigious School of Music from Manhattan is another of the institutions where he took courses under the direction of Zedneck Makal, Glen Cortese and George Manahan.
The concert will be held at the Teatro Principal at 20:30hrs, for more information, you can visit the site www.extension.ugto.mx
