Dr. Ramón Castañeda Priego was invited to participate in a panel within the Mexican Week of Science and Technology.

León, Gto., June 14, 2016.- Doctor Ramón Castañeda Priego, Professor-Researcher of the Department of Physical Engineering of Campus Leon of the university of Guanajuato is the only Mexican invited to participate as a speaker in the panel of Basic Science of the Mexican Week of Science and Technology, organized by the Mexican Embassy in Germany and the Foundation Alexander von Humboldt.

In an interview, Dr. Castañeda commented: "I'm the only Mexican researchers of the area of Basic Science, that is why besides representing the Mexican scientific community, I also represent all the public universities in Mexico. I think that it is a great distinction to have been selected, representing our university, by participating in this panel."

He expressed that he is filled with satisfaction that the work developed with a group of students from UG is recognized and distinguished in this type of academic events where they prove that science that develops in Mexico is highly competitive in an international level.

During the event, scholars from Germany and Mexico will participate, particularly, the Director of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), Dr. Enrique Cabrero and the President of the Mexican Academy of Science, Dr. Jaime Urrutia.

The Mexican Week of Science and Technology will occur from July 4th to 6th in Berlin, as part of the activities of the Dual year Mexico-Germany, which aspires to establish an "alliance for the future."

In the panel, Dr. Castañeda will speak about the research project "Colloidal Soft Matter", whose results are of interest for both basic science and processes of technology innovation.

Dr. Castañeda Priego has a brilliant academic trajectory recognized internationally, in 2014 he was distinguished with the Class Marcos Moshinsky, granted to young Mexican scientists with a successful career, and in plain ascent of their area of specialization. In 2015 he obtained the research class of Alexander von Humboldt, one of the greatest international prestige and the most important that the German scientific community grants to foreign researchers.
