Guanajuato, Gto. June 18, 2016.- "Sport is transcendental in the development of a person, since, as he or she develops, the illness index decreases, the stress and life are visualized different" this was explained by the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, in the opening ceremony to commemorate the day of the university worker from ASTAUG.

This is the third consecutive year where they have sport activities, with the objective to promote coexistence and physical activation in the university community, with the participation of 600 workers affiliated to the "Asociación Sindical de Trabajadores Administrativos de la Universidad de Guanajuato (ASTAUG)", to the "a la Asociación Sindical del Personal Académico y Administrativo de la Universidad de Guanajuato (ASPAUUG)" and trusted academic personnel of the University.

UG's General Rector, recognized the work from the university workers and remarked the importance to make a parenthesis in their daily activities at the university to have leisure time, so if they can be better as an individual, the university will have a better future. "The human body is made to be in the move and not remain static" he finalized.

During the event, they handed recognitions to outstanding university athletes in diverse disciplines: Jesús "Presi" González- Box; Ángel Martínez Vázquez "Nin"- Baseball; Israel "El Hacha" Valadez- Professional Soccer; y José Carol Vázquez Moreno-Marathoner, who representing his peers thanked the commitment of the university authorities with their workers and reaffirmed the commitment of the UG, with this house of studies.

ASTAUG's General Secretary, Eng. Víctor Jímenez Ramírez assured that their commitment is linked to provide an answer to the needs of the university personnel and be part of the continuous development in diverse areas, such as the sport area. He thanked the support of the General Rector in the activities that develop in pro of UG and finalized saying that the universitarians will continue performing based on the values of this house of studies.

On his part, representing the Municipal President of Guanajuato, Lic. Edgar Castro Cerrillo, the Secretary of the H. City Hall of Guanajuato, Dr. Carlos Torres Ramírez congratulated the universitarians that come from diverse cities to make sport activities.

He added that sports contribute in creating a better society and thanked the university authorities to make these collaboration spaces.

The activities that occurred in the Sport center "Juan José Torres Landa" were soccer tournaments, female and male basketball, and an athletic race.

The event had the participation in the presidium of the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández; representing the General Director of the "Comisión del Deporte del Estado de Guanajuato (CODE)". Lic. Isaac Noe Piña Valdivia, assisted the Coordinator of Sport Macro Centers, CPA Juan Ruben Sandoval Mendoza; representing the General Secretary of ASPAAUG, Lic. Claudia Lizbeth Reyes Montúfar, the Secretary of "Activación Física y Prevención de la Salud", M. Juan José Vázquez; representing the Director of Human Resources, M. Adrian Rafael Jiménez Gudh, the Chief of Management, Dr. Arturo Pedroza Cruz; the Secretary of Work of ASTAUG, Lic. Adrian Ramírez Estrada; and the Secretary of "Activación Deportiva" de la ASTAUG, el Mario Alberto Quintero Solorzano.
