Guanajuato, Gto., June 20, 2016.- With the projection of the movie "Elsa and Fred" in the shelter for elders "Lic. Nicéforo Guerrero", began a project from the Direction of Cultural Extension from the University of Guanajuato (UG) that has the objective to approach the cultural activities to sectors of the population which is difficult to assist the university's venues.

The show –which was made within activities of the celebration of Father's Day—is part of a pilot program that allows to extend art and culture to diverse audiences. Initially, in the shelter for elder they consider exhibiting a movie per month, although due to the response of the audience they expect to increase the number of projections.

This time, "Elsa and Fred" (2005) was presented, a Spanish film directed by Marcos Carnevale. It is about a love history between two people that know each other at the end of their lives. Elsa, an 82-year-old romantic who dreams with recreating a scene from a Fellini movie, and Alfred, a widower whose sanity and sense of duty, has been his feature until he met Elsa, who teaches him "how to live".

The projection of this movie in the shelter "is a marvelous closing for the Father's Day celebrations", said at the end of the function Don José Ornelas, who asked to repeat these activities, "at least once a month." Don José is a cinephile who has it difficult to assist UG's Movie Club, that is why he thanked the opportunity to watch in the shelter movies with such quality.

In the same sense, another attendee expressed, who asked UG's personnel "to continue bringing this fun, because we still have soul in our body and we like to see good movies like this one."
