Salamanca, Gto., June 21, 2016.- The international projection of the University of Guanajuato stimulates its students to enrich their knowledge in other cultures, like the student Gustavo Andrés Vallejo García, who thanks to interdisciplinary projects in Digital Arts, has linked two residencies in foreign institutions in United States and Paris, where he currently is.

Vallejo García studies Engineering in Communications and Electronic in the Division of Engineering from Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, and has participated in multidisciplinary projects in the Department of Art and Business, run by Dr. Reynaldo Thompson López.

last year, the student participated in a research residency with Dr. Thompson in the University of Texas at Dallas, and with Dr. Roger Malina regarding data bases of Digital Artists in Latin America (DALA).

In the present cycle, Gustavo Andrés participates in an academic exchange in the Université de Technologie in Compiègne, France that was created in 1972 by the French government as the first experimental technological university.

In that country, the student was invited to the 50th anniversary of the Journal Leonardo, from the International Society of Art, Science and Technology (ISAST), where he had the chance to reunite with Dr. Roger Malina, Director Emeritus of the mentioned Journal published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Leonardo is a non-profit organization that serves as a global communication of outstanding researchers, artists, scientists, educators and thinkers focused to the interdisciplinary and creative work of art and innovation.

It is the virtual community where they share resources of the best practices of research in art, science and technology, turned into the supplier of critical content regarding the initiatives in this topic.
