
Guanajuato, Gto., June 22, 2016.- A high level forum that functions as a liaison between the Mexican community with the international community, is the VIII Mexican Conference of Pattern Recognition, that from June 22nd to 25th occurs in the capital of the state.
The Pattern Recognition is an area of the artificial intelligence that seeks to acquire and identify objects, represent them, classify them and then evaluate them, creating an automatic learning system with varied practical applications such as automatic reading of manuscript characters and printed; voice recognition, faces, digital prints, signatures; identification of elemental particles, etc.
In the event endorsed by the International Association of Pattern Recognition, they'll present 30 articles previously selected by a scientific committee, plus the participation of speakers such as Dr. Balakhrishnan Prabhakaran of the University of Texas at Dallas, US; Theo Gevers, from the University of Amsterdam and Michael Devy from the Laboratory of Analysis and Architecture of Systems, in France.
Likewise, Dr. José Humberto Sossa Azuela, from the Center of Research in Computing from the "Instituto Politécnico Nacional", will give a course on last gen neural networks.
Parallel to the congress, there is an event of doctorate students who will present their posters, explained Dr. Victor Ayala Ramírez, director of the Laboratory of Vision, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (LaViRIA) in Salamanca and one of the organizers of the event.
Highlighted that the presented articles will be published in the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science of Springer, giving a platform of diffusion with high international prestige. A special number of the magazine International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence has been agreed for the most outstanding articles of the conference.
The event that takes place in the classrooms of Campus Guanajuato, was inaugurated by Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendivil, Director of Support to Research and Postgraduate from UG, representing the General Rector of the UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino. Accompanied by Dr. Xiaoyi Jiang, from Münster University, Germany; Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández; the Rector of Campus Irapuato Salamanca, Dr. Ernesto Camarena Aguilar, as well as doctors Francisco Martínez Trinidad and Jesús Carraasco Ochoa from the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), among others.
