Celaya, Gto., June 23, 2016.- As part of the field practices of the subject of Community Nursing, students from the third semester of the degree in Nursing and Midwifery from Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, gathered in the community Ojo Seco, belonging to the city of Celaya.

Throughout the semester which concluded, the 32 nursing students –along with their professor Dr. José Manuel Herrera Paredes—made a social-clinical diagnosis, which included aspects related with health in the area of the community and a statistic analysis of the zone, such as the number of habitants, birth rate, maternal death and amount of people who get sick in the place, all in coordination with health authorities and community's representatives.

"These activities have the finality to detect needs of basic healthiness and possible diseases", pointed out by Professor José Manuel Herrera.

He added that the study is divided in two stages: the analysis and the intervention. In the second part, they include the training in workshops and talks with the family, specially focused in the mothers; "since the base of community infirmary is the promotion, prevention and promptly healing the diseases" concluded the Prof. Herrera Paredes.
