
León, Gto., June 27, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato Campus León, through the Department of Medical Science, in a week, will begin working with a group of experts in Iberoamerica about the Advanced Glycation End-product (AGEs). The objective is to reveal to the scientific and academic community the most recent advances in the topic and the nutrition of a diabetes patient.
The group of researchers that will participate in the seminar is composed by Dr, Jaime Uribarri, from the Faculty of Medicine of Mount Sinai, NY, US; Dr. Alejandro Gugliucci from Touro University California, who will address the topic of the metabolic syndrome and its impact on children; Dr. Ma. Pía de la Maza, from the Universidad de Chile with the topic of AGEs and the diabetic retinopathy and Dr. Ma. Dolores del Castillo, from the Instituto de Investigaciones en Ciencias de la Alimentación de Madrid, Spain.
The professor-researchers from Campus León will be represented by Dr. Ma. Eugenia Garay Sevilla, Dr. Claudia Luevano, Dr. Armando Gómez, Dr. Maciste Habacuc Macías Cervantes and Dr. Carlos Villaseñor Mora. From Campus Guanajuato will participate Dr. Katarzyna Wrobel, Dr. Mazimierz Wrobel and Dr. Alma Rosa Corrales Escoboso.
During the seminar they will reveal the scientific progress on the topic, since the AGEs are considered conditioning factors for aging, the appearing and prognosis of some chronic illnesses such as atherosclerosis, impaired renal function, diabetes, decreased wound repair, early aging, rheumatoid arthritis and even Alzheimer.
