Guanajuato, Gto., June 28, 2016.- As part of the activities offered by the Technological Baccalaureate with Internation Profile (BTPI for its acronym in Spanish), students from the High School level from the University of Guanajuato (UG) will travel to Japan to know the institutions and the Japanese Kosen system, as well as coexisting with professors and students from the Nippon culture.

The BTPI is a flexible educative program designed with a profile by competencies for the comprehension of the national and international environment. This possesses a curricular structure that eases the student mobility between schools, contributes to the interdisciplinary formation of the student, and propitiates the interaction among students from different educative systems at UG and with other national and international institutions.

This summer, the students will have the opportunity to visit Japan, as part of the program, they will be able to know the institutions and businesses of the Asian country, as well as interact with students and professors from the National Colleges of Technology of Nagaoka, Ibaraki, Fukushima and Oyama in mentioned country.

In an interview, Cinthia Ortiz Escoto, student from HS Salamanca –who is part of this group—expressed her excitement for the trip, since she considers it as an opportunity to know in depth this culture, as well as to coexist with new people and totally different traditions.

On the other hand, Edgar Lara Arellano, student from HS Guanajuato shared that to participate in this experience it was necessary to study a lot and highlighted the opportunity it represents to be able to live Japanese traditions, as well as reinforce the language, because this opens doors for the future.

In the BTPI there are activities such as: academic exchange, semiannual stays in national and international institutions, learning of foreign languages, intercultural fairs, observation visits or familiarization to transnational business, among others.

In this baccalaureate, the students can choose the learning units from the propaedeutic area between two outgoing options: Mechatronics or Materials' Science. This has the objective to form technicians in the High School level with a high sense of social responsibility, specialized and with an international perspective.
