
Guanajuato, Gto., June 28, 2016.- With the objective to strengthen the basic technical capabilities on the handling or urban woodland and green areas, there was the first course of "Techniques in Protection and Restoration of Urban woodland areas."
A total of 84 people were trained in topic of forest sanitation for the control of plague and noxious weed, urban woodland trimming, soil conservation techniques and better use of water, tree climbing, as well as reforestation.
The course was organized by the Program of Environmental Handling and Sustainability of the University of Guanajuato (PMAS), same that was led by the operative personnel, students and professors from the University of Guanajuato (UG) and broaden the training of personnel of Public Municipal Services and elements ascribed to the Direction of Municipal Civil Protection.
With the finality to encourage the training for the maintenance of the green zones and woodland at the university spaces, during the semester cycle August-December 2016, the invitation will be open again, this time in the UG's venue Yuriria.
It is worth mentioning that most of the new university buildings have green areas, woodland and grasslands, be that around or inside the periphery.
Hence, the importance of this type of courses, that strengthen and reaffirm the commitment of UG in the environmental topic, both outside and inside the institution.
In the multiple use classroom of Las Palomas, located in the Reserve of the Basin La Esperanza, there was a theoretical session, and in the facilities of the community from la Mesa Cuata, is where the practical work occurred.
