UG's General Rector approved the oath of DCI's new Director.

Guanajuato, Gto., June 30, 2016.- 80% of the professors that the Division of Science and Engineering (DCI) from Campus León from the University of Guanajuato (UG) currently has, are integrated in the National System of Researchers (SNI for its acronym in Spanish), affirmed UG's General Rector during the oath of the new director of this division.

UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino recognized the work from the previous DCI's Director, Dr. Guillermo Mendoza Díaz and reaffirmed his support to the project who now occupies his place, Dr. David Yves Ghislain Delepine, who has proven great university quality and where everyone has an important role within the community.

He added that the Institute of Physics –today DCI—is an icon for what the University is now, he mentioned that 98% of the professors have the Ph.D. degree and whose work has made patent the transcendence of the educative programs offered in the Division, since there are several graduates that already have international presence.

The now DCI's Director, Dr. Ghislain Delepine thanked the opportunity and said that they seek to be a research center with national and international prestige, a place of high-level human resources formation, as well as to positively answer the needs demanded by society.

On his part, the Rector of Campus León from UG, said that this Division is an important part of the enrollment, as well as the quality indicators of the educative programs, since it is integrated by professors and students that every day contribute to make the means essential in the university know-how.

He highlighted the great responsibility this direction conveys, since the vision of the project started by the University and Campus León is challenging, which provides the possibility that this campus is a regional and national referent in the matter of Exact Sciences and Engineering.

It is worth mentioning that the President of the Board, M.A. Sergio Jesús Ortega Mereles manifested that on May 4th the board was notified on the proceeding of the retirement from Dr. Mendoza Díaz, so they proceeded to elect a substitute.

The board members that were present are: Ph.D. Sergio Jacinto Alejo López and Ph.D. Leticia Soto Franco; the Academic Secretary of Campus León, Ph.D. Luxana Reynaga Ornelas; Director of the HS León, Lic. Luis Ernesto González González; President of the Divisional Council of Science and Engineering, Ph.D. José de Jesús Bernal Alvarado; and members of the Divisional Council of Science and Engineering.
