Guanajuato, Gto., July 1, 2016. With the objective to ease the access of the sport talents to higher education, the University of Guanajuato (UG) signed two agreements with the Sports Commission of the State of Guanajuato (CODE for its acronym in Spanish), from which derives the commitment of the House of Studies to participate in the program of Massification of Social Sport, "Muévete 30M."

"We are living a sedentary crisis, the fourth factor of mortality in the world" from there the urgency to move, said CODE's Director, Lic. Isaac Noé Piña Valdivia, when explaining the relevance of adding wills to promote healthy habits.

On his part, UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino sustained that it is necessary to offer academic alternatives to high performance athletes, and as a sample pf their social commitment, the University of Guanajuato subscribed these agreements. Likewise, he said that it is necessary to encourage within the community the sport values and discipline.

UG's Attorney General, M.A. Mauricio Alejandro Murillo de la Rosa, pointed out that through these agreements CODE commits to grant support for transportation, food and payment of the admission certificate to the sport talents that will present their admission exam at the University of Guanajuato, institution that will pay the inscription and support the young so they can achieve their optimal sport and academic performance.

It was also revealed that CODE will provide the human resources –high performance trainers—and the access to their facilities to the university community, and at the same time, the House of Studies will ease their sport facilities to CODE.

In the agreement signing, M.A. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez, gave a welcome message where he mentioned that UG will join the program "Muévete 30M", which includes the commitment to train institution's personnel to start actions related with physical activity and the promotion of healthy habits.

On the matter, Dr. Guerrero Agripino warned that in the country "there will not be budget enough if we only focus of healing and not addressing prevention", so he considered that practicing a sport "is much cheaper", and invited to "dive into the vice of sport until the body allows it."

To the event where the agreements were signed, attended UG's Pro Vost, Ph.D. Héctor Efraín Gutierrez de la Rosa; the Coordinator of Physical Culture and Sports, Lic. José Eduardo Pacheco Retana and the Coordinator of Health, Dr. Uriel Franco Ruiz.

CODE's delegation was integrated by the Director of Sports, Lic. Rumualdo Hernández Chávez; the Coordinator of High Performance, M.A. Roberto José Elías Orozco and the Director of Physical Culture, Prof. Rubén Cervantes Frías, among other functionaries.
