Celaya, Gto., July 5, 2016.- The construction of the first module of the Health Science building is a clear example of teamwork, to attend the needs of the university community and improve the educational quality of the Division in general, as informed by M.A. Ana María Padilla Aguirre, Director of the Division of Health Science and Engineering.
The Rector of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Dr. Ma. Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas, emphasized that the space needs will be solved and will join other projects that directly benefit students and professors, fundamental axel of its administration.
For the first year of operation of the project, they esteem that lab practices will increase from 490 to 1,190 hours, which will contribute in the optimal development of the research activities and teaching.
By having enough space, the costs and risks for moving to another venue will decrease, there will be laboratories that fulfill the norms demanded by evaluating organisms of Interinstitutional Committees for the Evaluation of Education (CIEES) and accreditors from the Consejo Mexicano de Acreditación de Enfermería (COMACE); the Comité Mexicano para la Acreditación de la Educación Agronómica, A.C. (COMEAA), and the Consejo de Acreditación para la Enseñanza de la Ingeniería (CACEI), which guarantees the students to belong in the programs of educative excellence.
The programs of the Division of Health Science and Engineering are taught alternatively in the South and Mutualismo venues, and are the major in Nursing and Midwifery; Clinical Psychology, Nutrition, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Master and Doctorate in Nursing Sciences in addition of specialties in Intensive Care, Pediatrics, Medical-Surgeon; with an enrollment of 2,665 students, according data from the Comprehensive System of Administrative Information.
According the development plans of Campus and the Division, to the current demand will join the educational degree programs and postgraduates, which will need bigger and better facilities to develop their skills and own knowledge through their study areas.
