
Guanajuato, Gto., a 07 de julio de 2016.- Scholars of the Department of Visual Arts of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) of Campus Guanajuato, gave a research seminar in the institute of Arts of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo.
Dr. Salvador Salas Zamudio, M.A. Miguel Ángel Castro Acevedo and Dr. Juan Antonio Sustaita Aranda, talked about the research done by each one at the University of Guanajuato, and agreed that the work networks created between universities, enrich the formation of the students.
In an interview, Dr. Salas Zamudio explained, that they were invited by M.A. Rosa Maribel Rojas Cuevas, from the Academic Body of Visual Practices in the Actual Art of the Universidad Autónoma de Hidalgo in the Art Institute, to give a research seminar with the purpose that the students made their degree work and knew different points of view and focus to projects and research themes.
In that tone, Dr. Sustaita presented to the attendees the initial stage of "Text and context in artistic research", a research work on how the social context becomes art; for example, he said, a case such as Ayotzinapa, can derive in performance, photography, painting, videos and artistic works.
On his part, Dr. Salas, exposed his photographic work from research, image analysis and its theoretical and historical reflection. "Virtual streets of Guanajuato" is the project that Salas shared with the institute's students.
As for M.A. Miguel Castro, coordinator of the multimedia area at the University of Guanajuato, explained that the research covers two areas; the digital video with social context and emergent artists that use social themes for the artistic production.
The three researchers agreed that the work networks created at the universities enrich the formation of the students, at the same time, they recognized that these seminars are a success to show the projects that nurture both institutions.
