Ph.D. Ramón Castañeda participated in events of great scientific and technological impact at an internatiional level.

Alemania, Guanajuato, Gto. July 14, 2016.- The researcher-professor Ph.D. Ramón Castañeda Priego from the University of Guanajuato participated in the Basic Science Panel of the Mexican Week of Science and Technology; and in the Annual Meeting of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, in Germany.

For Ph.D. Castañeda was a great honour and privilege to represent the Mexican Scientific community, by assuring that it is an experience that will allow him to define new projects and scientific goals to continue consolidating the academic excellence of the University of Guanajuato.

The first event where he participated in was the Mexican Week of Science and Technology, organized by the Mexican Embassy in Berlin, as part of the activities of the Dual year Mexico-Germany, in collaboration with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

The Professor at the Department of Physical Engineering of Campus León, Ph.D. Ramón Castañeda, is the only professor who currently develops research in cooperation with Germany through the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, besides being the only Mexican professor in the area of exact science with the distinction of Class.

During his participation in the panel of basic science, he spoke about the academic cooperation Mexico-Germany in the area of Soft Condensed Matter, where students, professors and directors of science programs of science and technology from Mexico and Germany participated.

In addition, Ph.D. Ramón Castañeda participated in the Annual Meeting of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, during the opening ceremony Germany's President, Joachim Gauck, at the Bellevue Palace, discussed the importance of the scientific cooperation and the academic exchange of Germany with the rest of the world.

This meeting was held at the Free University of Berlin with diverse academic activities in the Technical University of Berlin where they exhibited scientific and technological progress in different knowledge areas.

Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is the most important scientific-technological entity of Germany. Its objective is to establish liaisons with highly competitive scientists from around the world to have scientific and technological cooperation with Germany.

Ph.D. Castañeda said that in Mexico there still are areas of opportunity, one of them is the area of science and technology, however, he cleared that there already is the most important thing to pin up as a world power: highly competitive human capital.

"Our students have the technical knowledge and tools to lead science and technology projects inside and outside of Mexico. A proof is the great amount of successful Mexicans currently working in the best educational institutes of first world countries. Many of them have formed in our classrooms" he finalized.
