Guanajuato, Gto., July 17, 2016. For the first time in Latin America, from October 5th to 8th, the International Course on Onco-immunology will occur, an event that will gather in San Miguel de Allende, experts in immunological therapies against cancer.

Diverse alternatives to cure cancer have emerged, which will be addressed in the theoretical-practical course organized by the Mexican Society of Immunology and the Latin American Association of Immunology.

The organization of the events has the participation of M.A. Juan Carlos Balandrán, graduate from the major in Chemist-Pharmacist-Biologist from the University of Guanajuato, who explained that in the workshop they will analyze, from the hand of international experts, the latest progresses against cancer and immunological therapies that are saving millions of lives in the world.

This course has no precedents in the country, nor Latin America, and it is directed to professionals in the area of immunology and oncology –areas intended to fuse—. The participation of interested scientists, medics and professionals in the topic is expected. However, to favor interaction, the course is limited to 60 people.

To whomever is interested in attending the workshop, is preferable to de working in any research project, to be able to submit the documents for discussion. On the clinical cases, it is convenient to have cases they want to analyze with the experts.

The graduate researcher from UG mentioned that, previous to the realization of the course, the participants will have access to consult material, since the intention is for all the attendees to know the basic concepts of Onco-immunology, a relatively new study area.

The program of the First International Course on Onco-immunology includes conferences and round-tables, as well as the conduction of a practical workshop for the identification and analysis of the cellular human populations involved in the oncologic processes. The official language of the course will be English.
