Salvatierra, Gto., July 24, 2016. With the objective to offer better facilities for the university community, a multidisciplinary building is being built at the venue Janicho of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra. Currently, there has been a 44 million (MXN) investment, and 15 million more are expected to begin the third phase of the construction and be able to occupy the new facilities.
The building located in the venue Salvatierra of the University of Guanajuato (UG) includes classrooms, laboratories, cubicles for professors, administrative offices, audiovisual room, and bathrooms, among other spaces that will be used by higher education students, specifically from the degrees in Agribusiness and Regional Development.
The Chief of Infrastructure and University Services from UG, M.A. Eloy Juárez Sandoval, explained that two stages of the project are being worked simultaneously with a joint investment of 44 million pesos (MXN), which will conclude on August.
In addition, they expect the release of 15 million pesos, coming from the program for regional development, financed by the federal government. As soon as the University of Guanajuato can use the resources, the third stage will be leased, which consists in concluding the laboratories, constructing access stairways and exterior worksites (parking, sidewalks, paving). With these constructions, the building could be equipped to be functional.
The venue Janicho extends over 20 hectares, space that will lodge students from Agribusiness and Regional Development, who actually are taking class in the ex-hacienda "El Mayorazgo". There they will continue making related activities with the area of extension, as M.A. Juárez Sandoval pointed out.
UG's Campus Celaya-Salvatierra is distinguished by offering academic programs tightly linked to the development of the zone and focus their research to give answer to the needs of the environment. Addresses the population of cities such as Acámbaro, Coroneo, Jerécuaro, Santiago Maravatío, Apaseo El Grande, Apaseo El Alto, Comonfort, Cortazar, Juventino Rosas, Tarimoro and Villagrán.
