Guanajuato, Gto., July 27, 2016.- Gather books and magazines edited in Campus Guanajuato in the same space, distribute the titles of such fund inside the university library system and have a digital editorial catalogue that gives account of this production are the chased objectives with creation of the Editorial Fund of Campus Guanajuato.
M.A. Anuar Jalife Jacobo, coordinator of Extension and Academic Cooperation of Campus Guanajuato, explained in the first work meeting that this projects emerges after observing that, despite noticeable efforts for compiling the research and extension made by the university community that take form through the edition of a book or magazine, it still is difficult to access the titles published with the seal from the University of Guanajuato (UG) or even obtain elementary information about them, hence, it is a priority for Campus Guanajuato to have and editorial fund ---with its respective catalogue—which will allow the own university community to know their editorial production and approach it.
This project is led by the General Coordination of Academic Development, through the coordination of Services of Academic Support and the Coordination of Extension and Academic Cooperation, in collaboration with the Extension Liaison from the Division of Campus Guanajuato, will seek to settle the double shortage: a common repository for publications of Campus Guanajuato and a complete digital catalogue that proves this production.
It will in the August-December term that the responsible commission begins the search in libraries and catalogues from UG of those books and magazines edited or co-edited by Campus Guanajuato, from university authors or external authors, from 2009 to the date (which will expand to books edited from 2000 to 2008 in a second stage and the compilation of the historical fund in a later stage), to continue with the request of materials to the Division and the catalogue and location of the same in the space assigned in the library of the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences.
One of the benefits of this fund is that the recent editorial production of Campus Guanajuato will be gathered and safeguarded in an adequate and accessible space, that will be available for the public. Another of the benefits is to extend the distribution of books and magazines edited in Campus Guanajuato in the internal library system of UG, as well as in regional funds, with the intention to divulge the generated knowledge in the divisions.
The digital catalogue, will be constantly updated, to divulge the bibliographic and newspaper archives production of Campus Guanajuato, with vision to improve in a future the diffusion, distribution and commercialization of these publications.
