León, Gto., July 29, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato Campus León was one of the venues for the XXXI Volleyball Festival "Dr. Rubén Acosta Hernández", who gathers more than 4,300 athletes across the country.

With 432 teams that represent 30 entities in the Republic, began the festival activities, that has the objective to encourage the practice of sports and invite the society to know one of the most popular sport disciplines in the country.

The event is organized by the Volleyball Association of the State of Guanajuato with support from the Comisión del Deporte del Estado de Guanajuato (CODE) and the Comisión Municipal del Deporte de León (COMUDE), in the tournament participate teams of the female and male branches in categories up from 30 to 60 years old.

In an interview with Carlos Tinoco González, coach of the volleyball team "Abejas" from the University of Guanajuato, mentioned that the tournament contributes to promoting volleyball in the State and in the city which has a good level, besides approaching Ug students to one of the most growing sport disciplines.

In the event, Carlos TInoco is in charge if coordination the tournament matches at the multisport facilities in the venue San Carlos which will be done until July 31st, date when the tournament concludes.

Anel Cabrales, member of Colima's team, participates for the fourth time in the tournament –important to mention that is one of the strongest teams—and expressed her satisfaction for being part of the event and thanked the University of Guanajuato for their collaboration.
