
Guanajuato, Gto., July 28, 2016.- A group of students from the University of Guanajuato (UG) participate in the University Rally during the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) 2016.
The team –composed by 9 students from the Maximum House of Studies—will compete with the short film "Bienvenido hermano" (Welcome brother), which is directed by the student from the degree in Digital Arts, Juan Carlos Rivera.
"Bienvenido hermano" is a social criticism that tells the life of a couple of friends who are pickpockets inside a market, who later find a new way to earn life when knowing a church.
In an interview, Juan Carlos mentions that the formation given by the University is an important part of the aptitude and skills that have developed to make this project.
Likewise, he mentions that they have formed a formidable team to make this project, since it has been in continuous formation and preparation with diverse cinema specialists from the country in the last four months.
The team is formed by the students of the degree in Digital Arts from Campus Irapuato-Salamanca: Verónica Ireta; Miguel Ángel Pérez, Erik Rodríguez, Ulises Santos, Anilú Macías, Froylan Ávila, Rafael Castro; and by the student from the degree in Music, Daniel Pérez.
It is worth mentioning that the young students will compete against other selected teams from Coahuila, Mexico City, Nayarit, Torreón, Guadalajara and Querétaro, and have 48 hours to present the result of the work done in the streets of the city of Guanajuato.
To finalize, the students invite all the university community and society in general to the projection of this short film that will be carried out in the "Alhóndiga de Granaditas" on Friday July 29th at 20:00hrs and the entrance is free.
