
San Miguel de Allende, Gto., August 2, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) reaffirms its commitment to offer quality spaces for the comprehensive formation of students with the remodeling of buildings at the city of San Miguel de Allende.
University authorities led by UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, made a tour in the facilities of the Maximum House of Studies located in this city.
Dr. Guerrero Agripino affirmed that there is a commitment to have a greater university presence in San Miguel de Allende and recognized the willingness of collaboration with the municipal authorities.
The Rector of Campus Guanajuato from UG, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández highlighted that they seek to broaden the presence of the University through educational programs such as postgraduates and diplomas. As an example, he mentioned the opening of the master degree in Historic Sites and Monuments Restoration, and they expect that next year, the master degree in Urban Planning begins.
The tour began in the Extension Unit of Campus Guanajuato, which seeks to be relocated to one of the buildings to be restored. In addition, another of the facilities is projected for the implementation of a museum and art galleries.
The Director of UG's University Infrastructure and Services, M.A. Eloy Juárez Sandoval said that they have an authorized budget of nearly 900,000 (MXN) pesos, to refurnish diverse spaces, since they present a serious decay.
