teatro-universitario-universidad-de-guanajuatoGuanajuato, Gto., August 2, 2016.- The renowned artistic group from the University of Guanajuato, the "University Theater" will offer a play of the classical piece "EL retablillo jovial" from the Spanish dramaturge Alejandro Casona.

The event will be held next Friday August 5th at 20:30hrs at the Mesón de San Antonio. This staging has become a historical success since it has a large amount of presentations.

One of the pioneers of theater in Guanajuato, Enrique Ruelas, was who encouraged the making of some pieces from the group that composes "El retablillo jovial", in first instance at the Teatro Principal to later be presented in the Mesón de San Antonio, since then and until now, the play is a tradition for the university community and people in Guanajuato.

Under the direction of Hugo Jaime Gamba Briones, the University Theater, will captivate the attendees with a series of light comedies to laugh and have fun, since they reflect everyday situations and conducts.

The synopsis made by the University Theater says that Alejandro Casona was expelled from his country at the fall of the Republic, since he developed a good part of his theater writing in America. Precisely in Mexico is where he premieres one his most known plays called "Prohibido suicidarse en primavera."

Another of his dramaturgies are "La sirena varada," "Los árboles mueren de pie," "La barca sin pescador," just to mention some, same that have been translated into many languages.

It is worth mentioning that the University Theater has its origin circa 1953, date where they presented for the first time the "Entremeses Cervantinos," origin of the "Festival Internacional Cervantino." From its creation, all and each one of the presented works have given great satisfaction to the public.
