
Guanajuato, Gto., August 4, 2016.- The participants in the Science Clubs exposed the projects made during the 2016 edition, which will finish next August 6th.
Science Clubs are intensive courses taught by scientists of Mexico and abroad, who seek to awaken in the students the taste for research, as well as inspire them to work in high level projects.
The General Rector of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino accompanied the students to the poster expo where they exhibited the results from the work developed in this edition.
Genaro Daniel Jaime González, Chemistry Ph.D. student at the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences (DCNE) from UG and part of the Organizing committee mentioned that this year in Guanajuato were taught 11 clubs, in which approximately 220 young students participated.
He highlighted that the clubs have the objective for the students to learn in a fun and dynamic way so they can later make research summers, postgraduates abroad and stays in other places.
In an interview, the UG grad, QFB. Alicia Hernández mentioned that her passion for the clubs began with her participation as a student and now works as an organizer and instructor on molecular biology. In addition, he thanked the support from UG for the development of this project.
It is precise to mention that the Club began in the city of Guanajuato and currently are made in cities like Xalapa, Mérida, Monterrey and Ensenada; countries such as Colombia and Bolivia, and they pretend for the project to extend to other places in Latin America.
