Irapuato, Gto., August 3, 2016.- To intensify the Campus Irapuato-Salamanca's safety, the training of a canine unit is being held, and it will have the presence of the Division of Life Science in Irapuato and in the Division of Engineering in Salamanca.

With Campus and Division directors, there was a demonstration with the trained dogs, under the supervision of the coordinator of the program of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechny, M.A. Claudia Celic Guzmán Ruíz.

The three-month training, is given by a company that has more than 20 years of experience in this branch and made a demonstration of the progress reached in the first weeks.

At the beginning there was a show of basic obedience, to then pass to more difficult simulations. The progress of the units in different stages was verified, how to detect people hidden in the bushes, people trying to attack a guard, on flee attempts.

They also train the dogs to be transported in vehicles and from there jump out the window to complete the instruction, as well as reject food from strangers.

The guards use words in French as commands for different actions, explain the trainer, who recognized the effort of the safety personnel of the university, that at the same time is receiving physical training.

The breed of the dogs in training for protection and patrol are Malinois German Shepherd and Rottweiler. Since the Division of Life Science has the program of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechny, they have the conditions to make sure the canine unit is in optimal health conditions.

Once the training period is over, there will be a final demonstration of advanced obedience in the venue Irapuato.
