
Guanajuato, Gto., August 3, 2016.- The Hall of Campus Guanajuato looked full with new students of the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences (DCEA), who together with their families attended the Induction Day to know general aspects of the Educative Institution, to which now they belong to, as well as the relative scientific aspects of academic, administrative, cultural, sport and health topics, as well as the support services the student has related to their health and safety on Campus.
The Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández, inaugurated the Induction Day and welcomed the new undergraduates. In his message, he told the story of the University of Guanajuato (UG), whose origins go back to 1732, when in the city of Guanajuato is funded the first educational institution destined mainly to the formation of childhood and youth.
Like so, Dr. Corona Fernández exposed to the attendees the most transcendent moments occurred in almost three centuries of history, that have forges the great institution that UG is today: "The University of Guanajuato is in this region of our country one of the few that have the tradition as we have it, and you have to value that."
Likewise, he said that, if the UG has transformed throughout the years of its history to answer the needs of society, it has worried as well to rescue its traditions to not lose memory of what the educational institution represents for Guanajuato and for all the country, hence, he asked all the new undergraduates to know their history to be identified and proud to belong to this house of studies.
At the same time, Dr. Claudia Susana Gómez López, Director of the Division of Economic-Administrative Science, welcomed 463 young undergraduates to this term who incorporate DCEA's programs, "the largest number of students that the division has admitted in all its history," he affirmed.
He congratulated all the recently enrolled for achieving all the trials and requirements to be part of UG and reflected on the privilege that represent being a college student in this country in which only a scarce percentage of youth can access higher education, hence he instated them commit with their studies, their family and society.
At the presidium were also: Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez Padilla, Academic Secreatry of Campus Guanajuato; M.A. Velino Esteves Jiménez, Academic Secretary of the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences; Dr. Domingo Herrera González, Director of the Deaprtment of Management and Direction of Businesses; Dr. J. Refugio Vallejo Gutiérrez, Director of the Department of Economy and Finance.
With this enrollment, DCEA reaffirms itself as the largest division, in student numbers, from the University of Guanajuato.
