Guanajuato, Gto., August 6, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) is the third in terms of research force with 101 postgraduate programs, from which 54 are in the National Program of Quality Postgraduates and six stand out with a status superior to the level of international competitions endorsed by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT).

That is what the Director of Research and Support for Postgraduate assured, Dr. Mauro Napsuciale Mendivil, in the closing ceremony of the Science Clubs 2016 which have the purpose to encourage the youth to work in high level research projects and instruct the next generation of Mexican innovators through the creation of science talent networks.

Dr. Mauro Napsuciale affirmed that the Science Clubs represent one of the new forms of encouraging scientific callings and are even an example to launch new programs that influence in the interest of the youth for science.

He invited all the organizer to continue making this labor because he considers it is something new that will transcend beyond the achieved results until now. In addition, he congratulated the instructors of Mexico and abroad that make the execution of the Science Clubs possible.

Later, more than 200 participants presented their results obtained in the eleven clubs that were taught in Guanajuato: "Exploring infinity through Molecular Biology," "Mini wrestlers in our mouth," "Visualizing the links of life," "Complexity: between order and chaos," "Organic Electronic Devices," "Of plenaries and derives," "Virus, microscopic lethal machines!," "A universe in miniature: Ants and microbiomes," "Exploring the senses: Science and Technology!," "Insects in our food: How coevolution influences plant taste", and "Of fermentation, bacteria and flavors."

It is worth mentioning, that together with the field work and extra-wall activities, that have the purpose to approach science to society in general, the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences (DCNE) Campus Guanajuato lent its facilities to make this Clubs that in this edition began on July 31st.

In the Science Clubs collaborated researchers such as Frank Wilczek, Physics Nobel Prize 2004, who accompanied in the design of "Exploring the senses: Science and Technology!," course that Wilczek describes as, seeks to show that in reality there is more than what the human senses can perceive, for that, the participants construct devices that allow exploring those aspects of the world, that are not accessible to the human senses. The Club is taught by Clark Alexander, professor of the College of Science and Health DePaul University, and Rodolfo Ferro, student of the degree in Mathematics of the University of Guanajuato.

In the organization collaborate, among other institutions, the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), the Mexico Foundation in Harvard, the David Rockefeller Center of Latin American Studies, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), among others.

It is important to remind that, as an initiative of a group of scientists such as Benjamín Sánchez Lengeling, graduate from the degree in Mathematics from the University of Guanajuato (UG) and student of the Doctorate in Chemistry at the University of Harvard, the Clubs began in 2014 in the city of Guanajuato.

Currently, the clubs are made in cities like Xalapa, Mérida, Monterrey and Ensenada; countries such as Colombia and Bolivia, and they pretend that project extends to other places in Latin America.
