Guanajuato, Gto., a 6 de agosto de 2016.- "The participation of the scientific community to support the youth and professors from high school sets in evidence, as Theodore Seaborg expresses, that the importance we assign to the scientific communication from the youth is as important, maybe even more, as the very own research."

Words spoken by Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez, Academic Secretary of the University of Guanajuato (UG), representing the General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, to the 96 students, 37 professors and 119 researchers coming from 21 high school institutions and research centers from the entity, which concluded the Ninth State Research Summer organized by the Department of Innovation, Science and Higher Education of the State of Guanajuato (SICES).

He recognized SICES for the sustained effort in the labor to awaken scientific/technological callings in high school students, as well as strengthening the scientific knowledge of the professors at high and higher level.

Lastly, he congratulated the participants and quoted Pierre Curie "We have to make life a dream and a dream come true," with the expressed desire that this thought becomes a referent in his trajectory.

In his intervention, Dr. Arturo Lara López, Secretary of Innovation, Science and Higher Education thanked the support from UG with the spaces and facilities that allowed carrying out the activities of the Ninth State Research Summer.

"The scientific knowledge and quality higher education are indispensable for innovation and that is why we celebrate, enthusiastically, the experience they had along the weeks," he added.

He recognized that the young "teach us with their example that science can be used to achieve progress," which he considered and important and visible change of what is happening in the world, and especially in the state of Guanajuato.

Representing the researchers, Dr. Leticia Chacón Gutiérrez, recognized that for the "summergoers" there is a before and after, "that their life doesn't only change with the vision of how a research is done but in the perception of life itself" which allows to replant why are they studying, what are they forming for and what will be their future.

He thanked the support and opportunity given to researchers to influence in the motivation of the young so they can be convinced that the results of the research must be used in everyday life.

It is important to mention that the State Research Summer (VEI) is a program of the Department of Innovation, Science and Higher Education of the state of Guanajuato that supports the participation of undergraduates and teachers under the advisory of specialists of the entity. In this edition participated 46 students and professors from the University of Guanajuato.

Edgar Castro Cerrillo; Dr. Carlos Armando Bravo representing the participant researchers; as well as Dr. Antonio Vega Corona, Sub-secretary of Encouragement to Innovation, Science and Technology.
