León, Gto., a 14 de Agosto de 2016.- With the participation of 40 students from the areas of medicine, nutrition, nursing and social work, began the tenth edition of the Diploma in Therapeutic Education in Diabetes.

With the presence of university authorities, the activities of the diploma were4 inaugurated. The purpose is to prepare professionals through theory, practice and research to face the priority subjects related with diabetes and topics such as nourishment, physical activity, sedentary life, life style, among others.

The Academic Secretary of Campus León, Dr. Luxana Reynaga Ornelas; thanked Dr. Sergio Márquez Gamiño and the Lic. Carolina Cabrera de la Cruz for the effort made to gather the elements so the diploma took place, as well as the commitment proven to face one of the most severe problems of public health in the country.

"It is important to build bridges to assist all the patients and fight every day these diseases that it is one of the illnesses that must be attacked from several disciplinary fronts" highlighted Dr. Reynaga.

The diploma is taught in the facilities of the venue San Carlos of Campus Leon, during the four months that the program lasts, it is worth mentioning that 302 students have graduated since 2011 and it is a Diploma that has the certification of the World Diabetes Foundation, foundation that supports projects for treatments against diabetes.

In this way, the University of Guanajuato reaffirms its social commitment offering educational programs for the formation of professionals who answer the problems in topics of health and other sectors.
