Guanajuato, Gto., August 12, 2016. In an exercise that seeks to strengthen the democracy and civic values, 36 young men and women took oath as members of the Youth Parliament of Guanajuato 2016, who from August 10 to 12 had the opportunity to know up-close the legislative work and propose solutions to the main problems of entity.

During the installation of the Youth Parliament, the President of the Board of the State's Congress, Juan Gabriel Villafaña Covarrubias, sustained that is the in hands of the youth to build the history of their cities and the entity.

He thanked the support from the University of Guanajuato (UG), the Department of Education of Guanajuato (SEG), the "Instituto Electoral del Estado de Guanajuato IEEG)" and the "Instituto de la Juventud Guanajuatense (INJUG)," as well as the rest of the institutions that collaborated in the organization of this exercise.

At the instation ceremony of the Youth Parliament were present the State Governor, Lic. Miguel Márquez Márquez, the President of the Supreme Court of the State, Magister Miguel Valadez Reyes; members of the state's legislature, and representing the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, UG's Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa.

After the act, the youth exposed their proposals in the matters of education, safety and environment, among other topics. In an ambiance of tolerance and respect, the youth congressmen and women exchanged ideas, experiences and discussed the alternatives planned by their partners.

As representatives from all the youth in Guanajuato, the youth congressmen and women thanked theses spaces for dialogue, and committed to be a change factor to construct a more just and democratic society.
