
Guanajuato, Gto., August 12, 2016.- With the purpose that the new enrollment students of the University of Guanajuato (UG) know and enjoy the cultural offer that the institution offers, there will be a festivity called "Culture welcome."
This artistic programming will be held from August 15 to 26 in the four campuses of the University of Guanajuato and in the High School College, venues that will hold concerts, theater plays, cinema projections, just to mention some.
In a press conference, the director of Cultural Extension of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Sara Julsrud said that "part of our educational model is the comprehensive formation of all the students, this is the reason why we offer a varied program of cultural events."
She indicated that for this edition of "Culture, welcome" there will be a total of 96 activities that will be present at Campus León, Guanajuato, Celaya-Salvatierra and Irapuato Salamanca and in the high schools. She reminded that last year there was a participation of twelve thousand people and for this year, they expect more audience, since the enrollment of students increased at UG.
The coordinators of each one of the areas spoke about the programme, same that has the nurtured participation of the Cinema Club, hence, the coordinator Montserrat Alejandri, said that the cycle of the Oscar's winners will be screened in the four campus, in that way the audience will be able to enjoy movies such as "The Dutch girl", "Mad Max", "Steve Jobs", "The great bet," among others.
Continuing with the cinema functions, for the third time, there will be the cycle "Soul Power Music and Cinema" from August 15 to 19 in collaboration with Radio UG, in that tune the listeners will have a wide repertoire of African-American music, while the cinemagoers will appreciate feature films of such theme in the Euquerio Guerrero Auditorium.
In that same venue, but from August 22 to September 4 the 36th International Forum of the Cinematheque will come to the Cinema Club of the University of Guanajuato and will join the programming of "Culture, Welcome."
On the art spaces, the coordinator Areli Vargas, explained that there will be 10 expos in 5 galleries located in the central building. This artistic samples include the exhibitions called "El libro de las singularidades" photograph from Gustavo López, "XXX Festiva" graphic of Alberto Martínez, "Yo Dibujo" a collective expo of students from the drawing workshop from the Department of Visual Arts, "irisaciones matéricas" expo homage to the 30 years as an artists and "Estadias imaginales" a collective expo from the students of photography from the Department of Visual Arts.
The inauguration at the galleries will be next Thursday August 18th at 18:00 hrs. at UG's Central Building.
On his part, the coordinator of extension of knowledge, Miguel Mata Castro, pointed out that each one of the campus will grant an induction and a presentation talk from the "Service Catalogue" of the Direction of Cultural Extension.
Equally, the documentary "El misterio de los cristales gigantes" will be screened in the diverse campus where also there will be a conversation with the professor Juan José Martínez Reyes.
