Irapuato, Gto., August 15, 2016.- With a wide cultural and artistic offer of more than 90 activities, began the fourth edition of "Culture, Welcome," a multi-venue party with the objective to integrate all the students of the University of Guanajuato.
The intense and nostalgic interpretation of tango of the Quintet Insurgentes, formed by students from the Department of Music from UG, opened the program in the HS Irapuato's Hall where the attendants enjoyed this music genre that was born in the shores of the river La Plata at the end of the XIX century.
Dr. Sara Julsrud López, Director of Cultural Extension, made the opening declaration representing the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino.
Before the high schoolers, the Director of Cultural Extension pointed out that art stimulates the senses, incites activity and opens new roads, hence "we firmly believe that art is the angle stone of education, due that it strengthens it, achieving a successful comprehensive formation which will make better professionals tomorrow."
The program "Culture, Welcome" is held from August 15 to 26 and extends to the four university campuses and high schools, where there will be the tango concert from the quintet Insurgentes, as well as the concert music ensemble, contemporary dance Genesis, the northern group from UG, theater from Campus Guanajuato, movie projections and a wide spectrum of talks and activities to encourage integration, coexistence and enjoyment for the students.
For the last four years, the university has held this festivity, aware that what art can do for each individual and this at the same time for humanity, projecting the wide spectrum of the cultural offer from the student groups from UG.
Attended to the cultural and artistic party, the QFB. Martha Olivia Gallaga Ortega, Director of the High School College, the Rector of Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, Dr. Ernesto Camarena Aguilar and representatives of Campus Celaya-Salvatierra and León, as a hostess, M.A. Raquel Castro Soriano, Director of the HS Irapuato.
