Guanajuato, Gto., August 16, 2016.- The Council of Accreditation of Higher Teaching (CACEI for its acronym in Spanish) recognized the work and quality of the programs at the Division of Engineering of Campus Guanajuato from the University of Guanajuato (UG) with the delivery of accreditation awards.

Only 23% of the engineering programs in the country have this certification, which provides leadership in the topic, national and international recognition and it is a way to prove to society. The UG programs that were accredited are: Environmental, Civil, Geomatics and Hydraulic Engineering.

The students in any of the accredited programs have these advantages: the opportunity to make mobility stays abroad, greater possibility of getting scholarships to study a foreign postgraduate and automatic recognition to their Professional Degree in other countries where Mexico has international agreements.

UG's General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino confirmed his recognition to who worked to achieve these certifications and expressed that with shows the essence that the transcendence of the university works represents.

On her part, the Director of CACEI, Eng. María Elena Barrera Bustillos highlighted that the accreditation is done by expert academic peers in every evaluated area and said that it is a process that requires a continuous improvement that manifests the quality of the programs.

In his intervention, the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández indicated that through the evaluations you can have a critic and objective vision of the improvement aspects and growth, which allows to set new goals. Emphasized that this accreditation contributes to the fulfillment of one of the objectives of PLADI's update, which includes the strengthening of the educational programs.

The Director of the Division of Engineering, Dr. Luis Enrique Mendoza Puga reaffirmed the commitment with the process, which is why he asked for support from UG authorities to participate in obtaining an international accreditation in 2019.

At the ceremony were present, the member of the board, Eng. Carlos Arnold Ojeda; the Academic Secretary of the Division of Engineering, M.A. Victor Guillermo Flores Rodríguez; the Director of the Department of Civil Engineering, Eng. Francisco Huerta Castillo; the Director of the Department of Geomatics and Hydraulics Engineering, Dr. Gilberto Carreño Aguilera; among other university authorities.
