León, Gto., August 19, 2016.- With the purpose to commemorate the Day of the Social Worker in Mexico to be celebrated next August 21, students from Campus León of the University of Guanajuato held the 4th Colloquium of Social Work: Praxis and social-professional intervention.

Along three intensive days of work were held conferences, workshops, talks and discussion tables with the end to generate learning spaces in function and analysis of the professional doing of this discipline.

The organizing committee composed by students of this degree, pretends to make an analysis of new forms of doing Social Work, encourage the generation of ideas and transformation processes capable of providing an answer to the social needs, especially in the area of human rights.

The presence of Dr. Marisol Salcedo Horta, from the Universidad Católica de Chile, is worthy of mention, who through a conference shared with the students the vision of this area of social sciences as an agent of change and as a factor of intervention in the principles of the human rights and promotion of social justice. During his intervention he referred to the inclusion of the Social Work as a discipline in the expert forensic, legal and familiar fields.

There was an attendance of more than 400 attendants that during the activities of the colloquium shared great experiences with national specialists representing the National School of Social Work of the Universidad Nacional Autonóma de México, Universidad de Sonora, Universidad de Guanajuato, Colegio de Trabajadoras Sociales del Estado de Guanajuato AC, Red de Estudiantes and graduates from Social Work from Jalisco, as well as the Universidad Católica de Chile.
